Groundwork ran a number of free Nature Conservation Workshops at Woodfield during 2015, in line with our plans to bring Woodfield back into use as a community and learning hub. These workshops were structured as an informative and friendly talk, followed by practical workshops and activities for children.

We hope to organise further, similar events in 2016.

This is an example of two of the events:

The first was a Pollination Party on 17 June 2015: “Learn about the importance of bees and how you can help them thrive in your garden; make a bee hotel and get a free goodie bag of bee-friendly seeds and plants!”

Conservation workshops

The second was a workshop on Climate Change and Your Garden on 24 June 2015: “Learn how you can adapt your garden to reduce the effects of climate change on local wildlife.

Other events in 2015 included: a Busy Bee Treasure Hunt for small children on 1 April, a stall at the Abbotswood Road Fair on 25 April, and conservation workshops on 6 and 20 May.
